PostHeaderIcon What to do? What to do?

Another lack of Tuesday maintenance means a lack of blog posts here at casual huntering. I spent Tuesday morning trying to finish off the Lunar Festival on my Death knight. I had to pug every one of the northrend dungeons, but I finally got it done. I used random dungeon finder to jump into either the heroic or normal versions of the instances. I was either the top of the dps meters or on the extreme bottom (I only recently got good enough gear on my DK to be able to do heroics at all).

Well, all of my focus and energy has been on trying to get these holidays done. This morning I got on the computer and I didn’t know what the heck what to do. I spent like 30 minutes just trying to organize my bank alt’s bags and guild bank tabs. Wow its a mess! That’s what happens when you are trying to level jewelcrafting. I have jewelry all over the place. I have 4 tabs on my guild bank and they are all packed. I threw a few things on the AH, just to create more space. I’m such a pack rat.

Yeah, I then tried to work on leveling my druid, lost focus on that in like 5 minutes. I really need to get her to level 40 so I can get her epic mount. I was too impatient so I only did one quest and then jumped on my main character, my hunter.

So, I decided the SV spec on my hunter isn’t doing it for me. I am now experimenting with a MM build. I was suppose to try it out on ToC 10 last night, but our guild raid didn’t happen. So, this morning I did a couple of randoms. I’m really enjoying this spec more, but I’ve only done 2 dungeons so far, so the verdict is still out.

Other than that, I’m feeling a little blaa. Debating about going back to my altoholic mode that I was in before February. I’ve been neglecting all characters that aren’t on Deathwing (and several that are). Mostly only my DK and Hunter have gotten any attention from me. I’ve really enjoyed dungeons on my DK in Unholy spec so maybe I’ll play around with that. But the ever approaching gear respec makes me won’t to focus on alts instead. Oh, I probably should just pick something and stick with it.

Anyway, I’m trying to get this out quickly because I need to get back to work. So, I’m sorry about the typos that will inevitably show up somewhere.

It’s been too long since I’ve written last. I tried to stop writing blog entries at work, and now I’m a weekly or biweekly blog (depending on Tuesday Maintenance). Servers are down and so here I am blogging. I’m not dead, even though I look like it in the picture above.

I’m finding my game play has recently completely changed. Previously I was very much a single player centric. I didn’t really care about my alts, only as to how they could help my main character (Aoirselvar – lvl 80 dwarf hunter). And pretty much I focused on different achievements, collecting mounts/pets, and raiding. Now I only get on Aoirselvar for two reasons: 1) I’m doing some kind of achievement (usually holiday ones) with my wife. 2) I’m raiding with my guild Can of Aggro. I haven’t been getting on him for day to day stuff. Are there things that I could do? Oh sure, but I’m a little worn out of doing dailies, kind of lost interest in hunting the Spirit Beast, and I made everything that I want with Engineering (took me a while, but I finally made Jeeves a few weeks ago).

So, what have I been doing? Playing on alts. I’ve been enjoying leveling up my DK. I know that should be the easiest toon to level, but my character is only lvl 74. Its been fun to go through the quests in Northrend again, especially since I got her the Tome of Cold Weather Flying. I was debating about that, mostly because I forgot that your regular flying mount speed had been increased some time ago to 150%. Wow, that has made a big difference. I remember not having an epic flying mount had having to go at 60% speed. Drove me batty!! It was better to go by land, but not now. I haven’t bothered with getting my DK the epic training, because 150% has been quick enough in my opinion. Of course I probably could do every freakin’ epic quick if I bothered to farm up the gold for the other.

I’ve also started some toons on Feathermoon US server. I’ve previously been only focused on one server, Deathwing US. I’ve rolled toons on other servers, but never leveled them past 10. I had no desire. Why would I want to do that when all of my friends are on Deathwing? Well, my wife and I rolled toons on Feathermoon so that we could play without having to be dragged in on something on Deathwing. What would typically happen before is that everything we logged on we would instantly be invited to a group with my little brother. I know we could just tell him that we didn’t want to raid or do a heroic an that day, that would be fine, but my brother tends to try to talk you into things. It feels like your being sold a used car.

So, we rolled a hunter/pally combo (I’m playing the Pally, if you can believe it). It feels a little weird let me tell yeah. But since I’ve been playing the DK, I’m starting to get use to the idea of trying to get closer to the enemy. Still don’t know what the heck I’m doing on a pally, but it’s been fun still.

I couldn’t help myself, I also rolled a little baby hunter. I’m trying out the nightelves this time. I’m not sure if I care for it yet. I kind of feel like the dwarves have more personality, but I wanted to try something new.

Another thing (besides different servers) that is different, is that I’m trying my hands on role playing now. I’ve always been intrigued by RPing, always thought that it would be a lot of fun. I’m trying to develop some back stories for these characters. We are already in an RPing guild, Stromwind University. Arrens is the head professor (and guild leader). So far I haven’t actually done any RPing, only character development. I’ll be posting character bios on here in the future.
